We focus on working together to raise money and support our communities.

Over the years, we’ve helped charities of all sizes raise thousands of pounds for excellent causes. Our current, employee-led, charity of choice is the Guide Dogs. They work to give people with sight loss the confidence and skills they need to live the life they choose. Almost 2 million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. By 2050, there could be nearly 4 million.

Our Guide Dog Fundraising Activities

Our goal is to help Guide Dogs raise much needed funds. They rely on donations from the public to keep their life-changing services running. Recent statistics revealed less than 1% of their income came from government funding.

So, every penny really counts, for example:

  • £5 could support a working guide dog partnership for a day
  • £18 could buy a harness handle for a guide dog
  • £30 could cover the cost of a visit to the vet

To raise money we have a host of fun-filled fund-raising activities lined up. From adventurous Sky Dives, to the Coniston Challenge, to our ever-popular Bake Sales.

Our fundraising and social activities are all supported by our charity committee, HOPES, who give their time, energy and enthusiasm to help raise thousands of pounds. And to encourage all of us across the business to get together more and have fun!

From internal table football challenges, to seasonal quizzes and Christmas parties, they’re a critical part of what makes us CANCOM in the UK.

Charity begins at home

Along with supporting a company-wide charity each of our offices supports local charities as well. We’ve introduced a paid charity day for each employee to use to support a charity of their choice.

We believe passionately that it is important that we help organisations that benefit both our wider society and local communities.

Organisations benefiting from this approach in 2019 include Mellon Educate.

Previous Fundraising Activities

Previously we supported the leading children's charity, NSPCC, to end child abuse across the UK. Helping children rebuild their lives, protect those at risk and find the best ways of preventing abuse from ever happening again.

We set ourselves a target of £25,000 and are very proud to say that we smashed this target and raised a grand total of £25,713!
