We focus on working together to raise money and support our communities.
About our Charity Committee - HOPES
Our fundraising and social activities are all supported by our charity committee, HOPES, who give their time, energy and enthusiasm to help raise thousands of pounds. And to encourage all of us across the business to get together more and have fun!
From internal table football challenges, to seasonal quizzes and Christmas parties, they’re a critical part of what makes us CANCOM in the UK.
Over the years, we’ve helped charities of all sizes raise thousands of pounds for excellent causes. Our current National Charity is the Guide Dogs. They work to give people with sight loss the confidence and skills they need to live the life they choose. Almost 2 million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. By 2050, there could be nearly 4 million.
Guide Dogs rely on donations from the public to keep their life-changing services running. In 2019 we attended Microsoft Future Decoded where Guide Dogs kindly agreed to sponsor the event with us. We had various furry friends attend the stand during the day and the event helped to raise those much needed funds for the charity via attendees donating whilst chatting with CANCOM staff and Guide Dog owners and senior members of their team.
In addition to our national charity, CANCOM UK has pledged its support to helping children recover from serious crime.
Our regular donation to Embrace CVOC will ensure local children left traumatised after suffering terrible crimes can receive specialist support including counselling, practical help and time away with family.
The charity helps thousands of children and families each year who have nowhere else to turn.
Charity begins at home
Along with supporting these two charities, we support various local charities as well.
As part of this initiative, we support 3 homeless charities in Brighton. The City has a big homeless problem and we help in a variety of ways from fundraising to donating practical food and clothes and help support their technology needs.
We’re also proud to support other charities including our National Charity Partner Guide Dogs for the Blind.
